“For the fifth year, we’re proudly supporting Water First in their important work bringing access to safe, clean water for Indigenous Peoples. This World Water Day, we encourage our customers and other businesses to support a cause that recognizes the importance of this vital natural resource,”
- Bob Wasserman, CEO of Alert Labs
Indigenous communities experience water drinking water challenges that stem from a variety of factors such as infrastructure or source water concerns. Water First addresses these challenges through initiatives such as the Drinking Water Internship Program which supports young Indigenous adults to become certified water treatment plant operators, ensuring sustainable access to safe drinking water in Indigenous communities for the long term.
World Water Day is an annual United Nations observance held on March 22 designed to encourage people to take action to tackle the global water crisis. This year’s theme: Groundwater, Making the Invisible Visible focuses on the vital role that this source of water plays in meeting the needs of us all. World Water Day is also about boosting support for “the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 6: water and sanitation for all by 2030.”
