Where we started
In 2015, Alert Labs founders left traditional corporate life to create a company where every employee — every Alertian — feels valued, connected, and inspired. More than ten years later, we’re still guided by the same principles: do good, empower others, stay curious, deliver results, build trust through transparency, and work without silos.
These principles show up in how we collaborate across teams, host hackathons, share ideas at town halls, and yes, celebrate wins with a rubber chicken.
What culture looks like at Alert Labs
The people at Alert Labs are kind, curious, and low ego. They're genuinely nice to each other. And that matters more than it might sound, because it's the foundation for everything else — the honest feedback, the willingness to question assumptions, the comfort with being wrong if it means reaching a better answer.
At Alert Labs, the best ideas win. We’re not bogged down by rigid hierarchies or unnecessary process. Decisions are made by the people closest to the work. Feedback flows freely. People are comfortable questioning assumptions and suggesting new ideas because they know the goal is the best outcome, not the loudest voice.
We also support people as humans, not just employees. Impact we’re proud of
Our AI-powered AlertAQ™ platform and smart sensors help building professionals prevent water damage, reduce costs, and use water more sustainably. Our customers have saved $150 million, conserved 15 billion gallons of water, and prevented 163,000 metric tonnes of CO2e emissions. We maintain a 97% customer satisfaction rate across more than 14,000 buildings in North America.
Behind those numbers are Alertians: engineers brainstorming over coffee, our support team cheering when a customer avoids a costly water leak, and teammates across every department pulling in the same direction.

Being named to the Culture 100 adds to credentials we’re proud of, including our B Corp certification and Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50 Clean Technology award. But what matters most isn’t the award itself. It’s the fact that our own team’s feedback is what earned it.
