Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager to join our water monitoring group. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background and will be responsible for overseeing the development of our IoT devices, including electrical, mechanical, firmware and software development. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent leadership and communication skills to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a cross-functional project teams, including electrical, mechanical, and firmware, to deliver IoT devices for monitoring leaks and floods with a variety of proprietary Alert Labs devices.
  • Work with adjacent team leaders including Application Software, Analytics, Manufacturing and Product Management
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate and monitor project activities to ensure adherence to project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and issues, and develop contingency plans as needed.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among team members, stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Conduct regular project status meetings and provide updates to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in IoT development.
  • Manage project documentation, including requirements, design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
  • Continuously evaluate project processes and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or similar
  • Minimum of 3 years of project management experience, preferably working with IoT or similar low power devices.
  • Proven experience managing projects involving electrical, mechanical, and firmware development.
  • Strong understanding of IoT technologies, including sensors, radio communication, and data processing.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, etc).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in mechanical engineering roles.
  • Knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • PMP certification
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards for IoT devices.
